I agree with you about the Oscars, if Johnny were getting a nomination it should have been for Ed Wood or Fear and Loathing. It seems to me like one of those "we like your body of work and we've kinda snubbed you for like ten million years so here's a nod" nominations. Kinda like how Al Pacino won for something blah like Scent of A Woman but lost for great movies like Dog Day Afternoon and The Godfather. Or how Naomi Watts is up this year for 21 Grams but should have been up a couple years ago for Mullholland Drive. But yeah Oscars have little to do with talent, it's a popularity contest/fashion show. If they really wanted to ring in the teen girls they could have nominated Orlando Bloom. That would get the 12 year olds in the seats. Quentin wasn't nominated this year because Miramax is saving the big Oscar push for Kill Bill Vol. 2. It's all a real crap shoot. Sometimes they do get it right though; Benicio Del Toro's win for instance...though he should have got something for The Usual Suspects. Either way I'm talking too much. Glad to see your back.
